On the new foreshore plan

Thank you for the clear-eyed piece on Friday. As a long-term Crown Street resident I’d add: parking matters, but a pedestrianised promenade is a once-in-a-generation chance. We should be brave.

— Margaret O’Connor, Wollongong

Bus routes after the cuts

The 55a was a lifeline for older residents in the western suburbs. Your reporting prompted a useful conversation in our seniors’ group. We’re writing to the minister this week.

— Don Patel, Figtree

Local sport gets the column inches it deserves

Loved the piece on the under-15 girls’ team. My daughter cut it out and pinned it on her wardrobe. Keep the local sport coming.

— Sarah Williams, Thirroul

A note on housing

Your investigation into short-stay listings was sobering. Council needs to act, and they need a clear public mandate to do so. Voters: pay attention.

— Tom Russo, Bulli

Thank you for the obituaries

A small thing, but the way you covered Mrs. Adams’ passing mattered to our family. The pictures of her at the rose garden were perfect.

— The Adams family, Corrimal

On AI in journalism

I read your editorial standards page and was reassured. Transparency about how stories are produced builds trust. Please keep that promise visible.

— L. Chen, Coniston
