Frequently asked questions

The questions Wollongong readers ask us most often.

  1. What is The Daily Wollongong?

The Daily Wollongong is an independent local newsroom covering Wollongong. We publish daily, focus on the stories that matter to the people who live here, and send a short morning briefing free to your inbox.

  2. Is the morning briefing free?

Yes. The weekday morning briefing is free for everyone. We may add optional paid tiers in future, but the daily local news will always have a free option.

  3. How often do you publish?

We publish original articles every weekday and update the homepage throughout the day. The morning briefing lands before 7am, Monday to Friday.

  4. Do you use AI to write articles?

We use AI as a research and drafting assistant under human editorial oversight. Every published article is reviewed by an editor for accuracy, fairness and local context. See our editorial standards for the full policy.

  5. How do I send a news tip?

Use our confidential tips form, or email the desk directly. We treat every tip in confidence and never publish a source without their consent.

  6. How do I suggest a correction?

At the bottom of every article there's a "Suggest a correction" link. We aim to respond to correction requests within one business day and publish updates transparently.

  7. Can I advertise with you?

Yes. We offer sponsored articles, newsletter sponsorships and banner placements. Visit our media kit page for current rates and audience stats, or email hello@thedailywollongong.com.au.

  8. How do I unsubscribe from the newsletter?

Every edition includes a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer. We honour unsubscribes immediately and do not sell or share your email address.
